Explore Gold Mine History

Big Bear Lake was a Logging and Gold Mining town in the 1800s before turning into a mountain recreation town. Nowadays 30,000 people live here year-round and millions visit annually for our cool fresh air and fun activites. We are the highest mountain town in Southern California! There is a self guided driving tour through the forest to see the Gold Mining History in person!
